Mathew Kelly
Head of Real Estate
Mathew has over 20 years’ experience in real estate law. He regularly advises on acquisitions and disposals, leasehold matters, development projects and property finance.
Mathew acts for both local and international clients and has gained an excellent reputation for his commercial awareness and high level client service.
Mathew originally qualified as a real estate solicitor in England and Wales in 2002. He worked at an international law firm for 10 years, before moving to Bermuda to join Wakefield Quin as a senior real estate attorney. In the 11 years he has worked in Bermuda, Mathew has accumulated significant experience in all aspects of Bermuda property law and has built up an extensive client base.

Isabel Stevens
Property Paralegal
Isabel Stevens (known as Issy) joined Hamilton Legal in January 2026 as a Paralegal, reporting to the Head of Real Estate.
Issy joined from Wakefield Quin. Prior to working in Bermuda, she held positions with various law firms in Montreal, including McCarthy Tétrault L.L.P., Robinson Sheppard Shapiro and Kugler Kandestin, L.L.P.
Since graduating from O’Sullivan College of Montreal in 2000, Issy has worked on corporate and property matters. Her experience includes corporate transactional work such as incorporations, maintenance of corporate records, and matters involving corporate restructuring and bankruptcy. She has also assisted with property matters, including commercial leases, title searches and related legal searches.
